Painted insignia of the insignia of the 649th Ambulance Company [manuscript], n.d.

Painting, n.d., of the insignia of the 649th Ambulance Company, attatched to the 66th Division of the Chasseurs Alpin, comprised of student volunteers from the University of Virginia. The insigina consists of an eagle perched on a globe; inscribed on the globe are the names of four battles in which the 649th participated: Cantigny, Soissons, the Argonne (1918), and St. Mihiel. The painting belonged to William Pope Duzall Bush, who served with the 649th.
